Tastings & Workshops

Over a cup of freshly made warm seaweed immunity broth, embark on a voyage of discovery — the benefits of sea vegetables, ocean sustainability, and wild foraging practices on PNW shores. I bring as many varieties as the season allows, walk you through identification and how to cook with each, and we taste together. Snacks and broth provided. Workshops are hands-on; tastings are the same spirit, just brought to your space instead of out in the tide.

Workshops $65/person · Tastings $100/person · private groups flat-rate

Format 01

Hands-on Workshop

A 1.5–2 hour class with as many varieties as the season offers. We talk ID, harvest ethics, and home cooking, then make something together — often an edible seaweed seasoning or simple preparation. Broth and snacks included.

$65 / person · or $500 flat for a private group up to 6

Format 02

Seaweed Tasting (brought to you)

Same spirit as a foraging walk, just not in the tide. I bring as many varieties as I can, narrate each one — where it grows, how to harvest it, how to cook it — and we taste together over warm seaweed immunity broth and snacks.

$100 / person · or $600 flat for a private group up to 6

What's included

  • — A take-home one-pager on what we tasted and where it grows.
  • — Setup and breakdown at your venue (or hosted at mine).
  • — Optional add-on: a short low-tide foraging walk if your venue is on the water and the tide cooperates.

Driftline Rate

I keep a permanent sliding scale on seaweed tastings and workshops for low-income founders, disabled-led businesses, mutual-aid groups, and BIPOC/Indigenous/queer/ trans-led work — typically 40–60% off the listed range, sometimes more. No proof required; just ask.
