1.5 hours in the intertidal zone — seaweed history & identification, mindful ethical harvesting, and at-home processing for food and daily self-care.
The Salish Sea is a generous, ever-shifting place. Over 20,000 species of algae grow worldwide; the cold, nutrient-rich water around Camano grows some of the most flavorful and nourishing — gram for gram more nutrient-dense than most terrestrial plants. We'll walk a low-tide window together, learning to identify and sustainably harvest local favorites: sugar kelp, sea lettuce, nori, rockweed, dulse — and if we're lucky, a tucked-away find with a flavor closer to truffle than vegetable.
Along the way I'll point out the marine life we cross paths with — octopus, harbor seals, river otters, sculpin, crab — and share how I bring each species home: rinsing, drying, broths, salts, salves, and the small rituals that turn a walk in the rocks into a week of meals.
Children 5-12 are $20 each (add a child ticket at checkout). Under 5 are free.

Weather: It is unsafe to harvest seaweed within 72 hours of a major rain event. A scheduled walk may be cancelled for that reason — if so, you'll receive a link to reschedule or to convert to a gift credit you can use whenever you're ready.
Accessibility: This experience is not ADA accessible. Guests need to walk uneven trails and maneuver on rocks and cobble in the tide pools. Sturdy waterproof boots required.

An intimate 2-2.5 hour walk for your circle of up to six. Slower pace, more story, more time to taste.
We meet at the location you've chosen from the curated list (or one I'll suggest based on the tide and weather that day). You'll learn species ID and ethical harvest at the rhythm your group wants, gather a small basket of the day's best, and finish on the beach with a warm pot of seaweed broth I bring along — made with kelp, miso, and the day's harvest.
Good for birthdays, anniversaries, retreats, family weekends, and small groups who want the unhurried version. Children 5-12 are $20 each; under 5 are free.

Weather: Same 72-hour rule applies — if a major rain event lands inside the window, we'll reschedule. Private circles also reschedule for storm-front weather even if the rule technically allows the date.
Accessibility: Most curated locations involve uneven terrain. Cama Beach State Park is the most accessible option — request it specifically and we'll plan a gentler walk.
